Today is Earth Day, when people worldwide show their support for environmental protection through various sustainability-driven actions. Thanks to our users’ digital transformation, we helped save the lives of over 750 trees in 2020 by reducing school districts’ paper footprint. To celebrate this wonderful achievement, Permission Click will support the planting of 750 trees this month. In other words, thanks to you, we are ensuring that over 1,500 trees thrive!
What is Earth Day?
Earth day is an annual event that started on April 22, 1970, to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Today, it includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG, including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries and streamed over three days on their website.
The Earth Day 2021 theme is Restore Our Earth and features five primary programs: The Canopy Project, Food and Environment, Climate Literacy, the Global Earth Challenge, and The Great Global CleanUp.
Why is Earth Day 2021 important to Permission Click?
Every year Permission Click helps schools save thousands of trees by switching to digital, making us a truly green initiative for the 21st century. Our mission is to help school districts improve educational outcomes by providing the best technology to digitize and automate all your paper-based processes.
To help improve educational outcomes, it’s essential that we contribute to the long-term sustainability of the planet. Therefore, we celebrate Earth Day as our way of contributing to a cleaner, greener planet. Every tree saved translates to less pollution and a cleaner environment!
As part of our Earth Day campaign, we would love to invite you to share your experiences, photos and stories on social media of how you are cutting paper usage with Permission Click with using the #K12 hashtag.
We're helping to change that.
How does Permission Click help the environment?
Our digital platform helps school districts minimize the amount of paper they use for many operational processes. Whether internal procedures, parent forms, student handbooks, registration packages, a school district uses a lot of paper. A 15,000 student district can easily consume more than 37 million sheets of paper per year.
So, when a district decides to digitize their forms, workflows and processes, we are helping considerably reduce paper waste, contributing to the sustainability of the planet.
Not only do we support districts to become greener and reduce paper usage, but we also operate 100% paperless. Additionally, at our office, we practice reusing and recycling, make conscious use of water and have a large portion of our team work remotely, so there is less driving and contamination.
What better place to start than our own backyard?
Our local community tree canopy in Winnipeg, Manitoba, suffered a considerable reduction due to a series of circumstances. A snowstorm in Thanksgiving 2019, brought down an estimated 30,000 of the city’s 300,000 boulevard and park trees. Furthermore, foresters have been battling invasive pests that pose a serious threat expected to take out a sizeable amount of the city’s canopy in the coming years.
We are proud to support Winnipeg’s mayor Bowman on the Winnipeg One Million Tree Challenge and its mission to plant a million new trees in Winnipeg as our city’s population grows toward one million residents over the next 20 years. We celebrate and support the campaign with over 750 trees that we will plant locally.
